Does anyone know how I can get a free DSLR? I need an SLR to be able to play around with other aspects in photography, but I don't have the money to buy one. So, if anyone knows of any contests or drawings to get one, let me know, please!

Most have already seen this, since it's stickied in the Art Scene forum. But I just wanted to say that I just finished reading this, and am more inspired by it to go out and draw/paint everything I see than anything has ever inspired me before!

I need to make lots and lots of studies. Practice, practice is what I really need and this should help a lot.

I feel like I've lost my creativity. Or, maybe I never had it. Or, maybe I'm trying to do it the wrong way.

I'm supposed to be a painter. I love the feeling of spreading color, mixing it to create tone and shadow and form.

Most paintings are so boring! Still lifes? Gross!

I love the manga art style. Does that go so well with oil painting? Ha, don't think so. At least, I've not seen many "irresponsible drawings" done in oil... oil's not really a medium that lends to that... or is it?

I think I'm just going about this in the wrong way. I love painting. I love oil, the smell, how it handles... I love characters and manga. That's what I need to do.

Now the question is, original or copied? And, I really need to practice drawing since it's all drawing based. Grrr... drawing frustrates me. Maybe I should flip the switch in my mind so drawing feels more like painting.

Mmmm... Stargate. Another thing I love. Should I?

It's been a whole freakin' month since my last update. Meh. That's kinda par for the course.

My painting hasn't sold. But I'm leaving it out there. I'd like to see if it goes.

NeonCon starts tomorrow! For those of you who don't know, it's Las Vegas' own roleplaying games convention. I'm going to be running the Games on Demand booth Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. I'm looking forward to having lots of fun!

I painted a snowman and some bunnies on a toilet cover for my wife the other day. It felt good to paint. I'd forgotten how much fun and how satisfying it really is. It makes me want to do it again! And again!

Anyway, I'm tired! So tired and it's only 840pm. My lil' boy hasn't adjusted to the time change yet, so he's been getting up (and getting me up!) at 5am. Oh, sleep! How I long for your comforting arms!
